what we learn from athletes
When I watch an athlete perform at their peak and win, I think that it all looks effortless. I am in awe of how they can run, ski, skate, throw and lift. I wonder where the determination and commitment come from. Surely, they are engineered differently to me.
But they are not.
All athletes have one thing in common - they have a goal (or dream) and they understand what it takes to achieve that dream. They know there will be more hard work than success. There will be more loses than wins. The public sees only the wins in the big moments. We don’t see the sacrifices they make every day.
What can mortals learn from athletes? No matter the goal or dream, no matter how big or small, understand that it will take hard work and commitment to get there. Failure is part of the journey, but learning is guaranteed. Success will follow. Don’t believe me? Listen for yourself
If you want to change your mindset, start with your social media pages. Curate a feed that provides you with positive messaging about achieving your goals. Follow the people you admire, look for people who are out there doing their best. Discard the rest of the nonsense.
Go forth and conquer.
